Best of #a blogging good time April

Dear friend,

Welcome to the "best of...#ablogginggoodtime."  Katie and I are overwhelmed by the number of fantastic posts linked up each week and in an effort to give something back I decided to run a monthly feature to showcase some of the brilliant bloggers who regularly link up with us.

The diversity of posts linked up every month is amazing...everything from recipes to poems and lists, heartfelt and inspiring stories to hilarious tales and brilliant tips. Thank you so much! I know that we both struggle every week to pick out a featured post.

This months featured posts include:

Top Tips for taking photos of children

I really want to improve on my photography so I have been playing around to see how I can do this. I don’t have a posh camera or phone so I really struggle to get a good shot. I’m using a digital camera that was under £150 and an iPhone 4, however I am determined to improve the quality of my photos.

I asked Sarah who is a local photographer for some tips and she made me a vlog, very impressed! That is below but here is what I have found useful

How I Know Mindfulness Makes Me More Resilient

A couple of days ago my car broke down. In the middle of the road. In Catford. In South-East London. The kids were with me as we were mid transit between a swimming class for the eldest and a gymnastics class for the twins.

But had he not heard the little girl in his ski class screaming the mountains down? The rest of the Alps had.

She was terrified to get on the lift. And all Pierre was worried about, it would seem, was how big his packet looked in his tight red all-in-one. Quite big by the way.

What Is The Real Value of Sport To Our Children?

With one teenager finishing last term with a hockey tour and one starting this term with a cricket tour, I am reminded of the value of sport in my teens' lives not only from the obvious perspective of benefiting from exercise, but also more universally in helping to prepare them for life beyond the playground.

Like many other parents I have stood on my fair share of pitches, but despite the sometimes untold agony of getting them up on time, the arguments about lost kit, the moaning about unfair referees and umpires plus the occasional tears at not being selected, I believe it has been worth every minute and equipped them with some valuable life lessons.
