On Sunday we had a family fun day out at the European Space Agency. We are really lucky to live nearby and when we saw the open day advertised hubby managed to bag us some last minute tickets. Unfortunately Autumn decided to arrive with a bang but we didn't let the wind and rain put us off! Big lad is doing a talk on Space at school and he was eager to find lots of information...
The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.
We parked close by and took one of the shuttle buses to the main building, it was very well organised! Once through the security we could wander around the many buildings within ESA at our own pace. We got to investigate, rockets, satellites, play games, see robots, astronauts and watch a play. My favourite parts were watching a film showing satellite pictures of the earth and the boys having their photos taken on a green screen and then made to look like they were floating, weightless in a rocket. Take a look at our photos of the open day in my VLOG below.
