Photo story: Visit to the UK

/

Dear friend,

We have just arrived home from a lovely visit to the UK. I loved catching up with my family and all the girls. I miss those guys so much! I had a fab girly night with my bezzie's, we drank wine and put the world to rights.  My other lovely bezzie really spoiled me as she made a fantastic high tea for us to share, it was beautiful weather so we sat in the garden and enjoyed the sunshine.

Smoked salmon sandwiches, fresh cream scones and cocktail flavoured french fancies. The perfect lunch time treat!
Aren't the dogs beautiful? Mac and Betty.

We ate far too much and shopped too much but I managed to get the boys outfits for my brother-in-laws impending wedding and a pretty tankini for our holiday in the sun. The boys really enjoyed playing in Grandad's garden (that is one thing that I really miss about the UK as our garden is tiny).  They were totally spoiled by Grandama and Grandad and the big lad celebrated his UK birthday with a party tea and minion cake.

The big lad practiced his football skills in granddad's garden.

The little man got in on the act too but enjoyed posing for the camera more!

Loved them rolling down the hill, my brother and I used to do that too!

Some of the beautiful flowers in my dad's garden. He spends a lot of time there.

It was lots of fun. I even got in on the act!

We had a fantastic day out at Whitby. We had lunch at Hadley's fish restaurant. Hubby and my parents ordered the fish, it was huge! But I ordered Scampi, which the big lad got a taste for so less for mummy. We worked off our lunch with a walk up the 199 steps to the abbey. The view from the top is spectacular! The weather was amazing and I couldn't resist taking some pictures of the beautiful scenery.

I snapped these pictures from the car as we were travelling over the North Yorkshire Moors to Whitby. Stunning scenery.

Whitby, one of the most beautiful places I have visited. Love it here!

The boys enjoyed playing on the 2p machines and the little man even won a prize!

We climbed the 199 steps to the church and Abbey and of course counted all the way! The boys beat me back down.

The view is simply breathtaking. I hope one day my boys will appreciate it like I do!

It was a stunning day to capture the beauty of the Abbey.

This view makes it well worth the long climb.
The North East of England has a lot to offer. Fantastic people and truly beautiful areas of natural beauty, a great trip to start our holidays!

The local hill (almost mountain) Roseberry Topping. I have climbed this many times as a child.

A family tradition. We had to squeeze in a trip to Great Ayton for a Suggit's ice-cream before we set off home on Saturday.

I hope you are having a fun holiday too!

Kind regards,
An Imperfect Mum
